Aatmanirbhar Bharat - Developing a Sustainable & Self-Reliant Economy
The whole world is facing unforeseen challenges, as Covid-19 pandemic continues to unfold a new set of harsh realities. How countries, governments and business organizations respond to these uncertain times will determine their future. The biggest challenge facing nations at large is to quickly restart their economies while laying a strong foundation for sustained future growth. Building a resilient economy is absolutely crucial to sustained transformation and the Indian government’s ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan’ is centred around the importance of self-sufficiency and self-reliance in an increasingly open and connected world.
The Prime Minister of India, in one of his addresses to the nation earlier this year, laid out his vision of “Aatmanirbhar Bharat” to the world – A vision of seeing India not just as a self-sufficient nation, but a self-generating one, through which the country could attain a more formidable position in the world economy. Backed by a Rs. 20 Lakh Crore relief package, the vision is built on the five pillars of the economy, infrastructure, technology-driven systems, vibrant demography, and demand. Hence, the theme for Prabodhan 2020 is “Aatmanirbhar Bharat – Developing a Sustainable & Self-Reliant Economy”.
At Prabodhan 2020, we will have business leaders and visionaries share their ideas on how India could “Make for the world”, be “Vocal for local” and go “local for global”. The discussions would delve deeper to explore key insights on the country’s vision of a self-reliant economy and its impact on businesses and how it will reshape and redefine human capital needs for organizations in the near future.
